About
Winter holidays are a time of Christmas, New Year, and other warm winter celebrations observed around the world. It’s a season when fairy tales become tangible—in the glow of string lights, the rustle of wrapping paper, and the quiet hush of a snowy morning. Gifts during this time are more than objects; they are symbols of care, attention, and emotional connection.
For the photographer, this is an opportunity to capture not just the trappings of the season, but its essence—through an honest glance, thoughtful composition, and the interplay of light and shadow. What matters most is conveying not merely a moment, but an atmosphere: the warmth of togetherness, the thrill of anticipation, and the quiet grandeur of wonder.
In this category, photo editing and compositing are permitted: adding, removing, or repositioning objects, incorporating graphic elements, and altering the background using digital tools are all allowed, provided the artistic integrity and festive spirit of the image are preserved.
Accepted:
- Photographs dedicated to winter holidays—Christmas, New Year, and other heartfelt winter celebrations;
- Children’s, family, and staged photography that conveys the holiday atmosphere—indoors, outdoors, in urban or natural settings;
- Images created either in-camera or with artistic post-production (including object addition/removal/repositioning, background replacement, and graphic enhancements), as long as emotional and visual coherence is maintained.
Not accepted:
- Images unrelated to winter holidays (e.g., generic winter landscapes without festive context, portraits in winter clothing lacking holiday elements or atmosphere);
- Nude or semi-nude imagery in any form.
