About
Pregnancy is more than a physiological state—it is a unique time when a woman’s body, emotions, and inner world exist in rare harmony. It is a moment where strength meets vulnerability, anticipation merges with presence, and silence resonates with profound inner sound.
The photographer’s task is to go beyond the visible and convey this state through light, gesture, gaze, and composition. It’s not enough to simply capture the curve of a belly—one must reveal the connection: between mother and child, reality and hope, the fleeting instant and eternity.
This demands not only technical skill but also a sensitive, intentional vision—the ability to observe, attune to the rhythm of the scene, and honor the subject’s personal space, remaining an artist rather than merely an operator.
Accepted:
- Photographs of pregnant women—alone, with partners, children, surrounded by family, or in complete solitude
- Documentary and artistic images—whether shot in a studio or in natural settings: at home, in nature, in the city, or in everyday life
- Images in any attire, including artistic nude (nu-art), provided they demonstrate artistic integrity and coherence—and clearly and unmistakably depict pregnancy.
Not accepted:
- Images where pregnancy is not visually evident or is not the central focus (e.g., portraits without emphasis on the condition, crowd shots, or photos where the belly is concealed by clothing or angle)
- Images that demean, stigmatize, or portray pregnancy as an object of ridicule, fear, or shame
- Photographs taken without the model’s consent or that violate her privacy
