Bastian Cifuentes Araya
Bastián Cifuentes Araya, A.K.A Periodista Furioso is a social communicator, journalist, photographer and visual artist based in Chile.
His work is focused on the making of socio-documentary, street, heritage, cultural and artistic projects, with emphasis on the narrative and portrait photography. In addition, he has documented the different Chilean social processes through a critical, heritage, cultural and historic document view for the present and future generations.
The photographic work he has done has been awarded national and internationally, where he stood out for his portrait, social, street, cultural and contingency view. In the same way, he has been awarded on several occasions at the National Photography Salon FOTOPRENSA (in Spanish) in the portrait reports, character of the year, daily life and press categories, among others.
Since 2021, the European photography contest 35Awards has rewarded him by the official jury and popular vote in the reports, street photo and portrait categories, where he was included in the finals yearbooks. Also, Bastián has been a two-time winner with the first place in photography contests of Paine\'s Memorial, and highlighted by the Infrastructure Policy Council (CPI in Spanish), Chile\'s Cultural Heritage and the National Monuments Council, among others.
Bastián has published zines and photo books, and holds several collaborations on books, journalist articles, magazines, newspapers, documentaries, TV series and photography exhibitions.
Additionally, he\\\\\\\'s been a jury in different photography contests and is actively working as a photographer in areas such as culture, entertainment, art, press, and writes in musical, cultural and political media, and gives photography and journalism talks for schools, universities and institutes.
